This "Granddaddy" of all albums - a massive, heirloom-quality album - is great in size and in artistry. Measuring 15 x 17", these Florentine albums are hand-made by pressing antique brass plates into freshly waxed leather; they are then hand-tooled.
Made from the finest materials available: top-quality leather, and exquisite, cream-colored, acid-free, 80 lb paper (that's nice and heavy!), interleaved with a sublty-patterned rice paper (also acid-free). Must be seen to be beliveved - it's gorgeous.

Enclosed in a folding “book” (nicely finished with a bone closure and covered in the traditional color of the Chinese monarchy, royal blue), the Book of Good Fortune Chinese Calligraphy Set is a great gift idea.
This set includes a brocade-covered, accordion-fold book for calligraphic exploration, two brushes (with brush rest), a water pot and ladle, an “ink stick” (this is rubbed against the ink stone - the resulting concentrated powder is then mixed with drops of water to make the ink), ink stone; a carved stone seal, and a porcelain jar of red seal paste. The seal is of the Chinese character Fu, which means good fortune. |
