Show-through
Hand or machine printed matter which can be seen from the other side of a sheet or page when viewed by reflected light. It is caused by excessive ink penetration, insufficient opacity of the paper, or excessive pressure during printing, writing or drawing.

JournalsandBooks.com carefully selects journals, sketchbooks, albums and blank books for quality and selects paper that is highly opac to minimize back-to-back show through. We conduct tests in our labortory to measure and evaluate show-through. The test we use is 'J&B Opacity Test P'

When paper is too thin or the ink applied too heavily the color can bleed or seep through to the other side. This is known as bleed-through . Using the right paper for the type of ink coverage required can eliminate bleed-through.
